Working days that suit me - Jayse's story

When Jayse was referred to the Restart Scheme he was a lone parent and struggling to find work around his childcare arrangements.

During Jayse’s first appointment, his Employment Adviser, Michael, discussed with him the free hours of childcare he is entitled to through a government backed scheme and how this could help him as a single parent in fulfilling more working hours.

Whilst working with Jayse we identified that he needed his Right to Work documents replacing, so we supported him in making an application for a new birth certificate.

Together, Michael and Jayse, worked on his CV and using our Online Careers Centre and CV360 tool were able to guide Jayse on how to adjust his CV for specific job applications. Jayse began applying for jobs in cleaning and warehouse operative style roles, to which he was later successful in obtaining employment.

Michael keeps in touch with Jayse for in-work support calls. These help us to check everything is going as smoothly as possible in his new job role. Jayse told us:
