Taking the opportunity – Sylwia’s story

“I had health issues that held me back from physical jobs. Then I joined the Restart Scheme, where I received lots of support from my Employment Adviser, Debby. The Scheme provided plenty of knowledge, courses available and an online platform. Their online platform has lots of tools to offer support, and with the CV 360 tool I managed to create a new CV.”

Sylwia was keen to get back into employment, and explored different avenues with Debby, to assess where she was able to transfer her existing skills to another job sector. With an interest in admin roles, Sylwia looked at the opportunity to go self-employed as a free-lance administrator, and received guidance from our self-employment advisers, however, after thorough research she decided to continue applying for PAYE roles online.

Debby was on hand to support Sylwia financially on her transition back into work, with vouchers to buy new interview and smart work clothes along with reimbursing her travel costs to ensure she wasn’t out of pocket throughout her job search journey.

“After around seven months of being on the Restart Scheme, I was successful in getting a job as an administrator at a local health centre.”

We have caught up with Sylwia since starting her job and she has shared with us that she is happy in the job and looking forward to getting herself a bike for the work commute.
